The main intention of this piece was to try and make a knitted structure that could stand up without support. Letting stitches cross over each other produced surface variations, giving additional strength. As the work progressed each crossing-over seemed to increase the characteristic appearance of the surface and the overall strength of the structure. All at once something new was born: - the stitches found the power to support each other and the figure was able to stand on its own. There was something going on - I could feel the atmosphere flowing and beating.
