'A Warm spot of Sunshine'

Materials: Wool, Mohair and Silk yarn, Nylon thread.
Techniques: Hand Knitting and 'Pin tucking'
Size: D28cm x W38cm x H26cm
Date Made: 1998

This is the third piece in my 'mountain' series. It uses the same combinations of techniques. I tried to describe mountains relaxing in the warmth of sunlight, just like we enjoy ourselves in the spring sunshine. Its foundation is constructed by six large tucked and knitted pieces. On top of this I knitted upwards, using tucks again, but at a diagonal direction to the others. I used 3-6 yarns plied together.
